Your Role

Are you a sharp‑minded contract professional who thrives on turning complex agreements into clear, actionable governance?

As Commercial Contract Manager, you ensure that commercial contracts do more than get signed — they are executed consistently and correctly. You safeguard value, control commercial and contractual risk, and enable disciplined delivery across complex software and technology projects.

Operating independently from delivery teams and reporting into Legal, you provide objective oversight of contractual compliance and commercial integrity. You act as the bridge between contract and execution, with the mandate to challenge decisions when contractual or commercial interests are at risk.

This role suits someone who enjoys bringing structure, transparency, and accountability to complex environments and who wants contracts to work in practice, not just on paper.

What will you do?

  • Support Sales and Legal during contract negotiations by reviewing MSAs, SOWs and SLAs from a commercial, operational and risk perspective.
  • Translate contractual agreements into clear operational frameworks covering scope, deliverables, milestones, SLAs and change processes.
  • Independently monitor contract execution and ensure alignment between contractual commitments and project delivery.
  • Identify, challenge and manage deviations such as scope creep, undocumented changes or unmet acceptance criteria.
  • Ensure that scope changes are properly negotiated, documented and approved prior to execution.
  • Maintain oversight of key contractual obligations and provide transparency across delivery teams.
  • Identify and timely escalate contractual and commercial risks to management and Legal.
  • Advise project teams and management on contractual implications and decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate contract documentation and version control
  • Drive consistent application and continuous improvement of contract governance practices.
  • Provide feedback to Sales, Legal and Delivery teams to improve contract quality and execution.

What do you bring?

  • Experience in contract management, commercial project management or a similar role within a software or IT services environment.
  • Strong understanding of complex IT contracts (MSA, SOW, SLA) and how they translate into day‑to‑day project delivery.
  • A commercial mindset, balancing customer relationships with clear contractual boundaries.
  • Confidence to challenge internal and external stakeholders when agreements are not adhered to.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, operating effectively between Sales, Legal and Delivery.
  • A structured, detail‑oriented and proactive working style with a strong focus on control and quality.
  • Experience with change management and working in disciplined, governed delivery environments.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, translating contractual language into practical guidance.
  • You are fluent in both Dutch and English, verbally and in writing.
