Your role
As a Field Service Engineer, you are part of a close‑knit team delivering highly visible, hands‑on customer support. You play a key role in installing systems and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on site. Our customers include major organizations such as Rijkswaterstaat, the Port of Rotterdam Authority, the Port of Amsterdam Authority, and the Netherlands Coastguard. While most maintenance work takes place in the Netherlands, you also support system installations for our customers worldwide.
To provide traffic operators with a complete and reliable traffic picture, Tidalis has developed its own specialized software, complemented by a wide range of sensors positioned along waterways. These include AIS, radar, camera, and communication systems, all integrated into one powerful solution. Your work will focus on installing and maintaining these systems, as well as advising and supporting customers and colleagues whenever technical challenges arise.
Most of your activities will take place at customer locations throughout the Netherlands. Occasionally, you may also be deployed to support customers elsewhere in the world. Your work environment is diverse and dynamic: from office settings to outdoor locations, both onshore and offshore.
You will join a team of 8 experienced Field Service Engineers, with Rotterdam as your home base. For safety reasons, assignments are usually carried out in pairs. Over the years, you will continuously expand your knowledge and expertise, enabling you to successfully install and maintain our systems independently. Depending on the projects, you may also work on international installations, staying abroad for periods ranging from one to a maximum of three weeks at a time.
If you’re looking for a role that combines cutting‑edge technology, teamwork, variety, and real‑world impact—this is your opportunity.
What will you do?
Support and carry out installation activities;
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance;
Contribute to the evaluation of operational systems and/or support contracts;
Provide technical expertise for proposal development and product/system development;
Provide feedback on completed actions to the incident registration system.
