Your Role

As a Systems Engineer, you form the critical link between high-level system architecture, software implementation, and the customer’s operational environment. Acting as the primary technical counterpart to the E2E System Architect, you translate architectural designs into detailed system configurations and implementation-ready technical solutions. You ensure that complex systems are correctly configured, function as intended, and are fully prepared for operational use and customer acceptance — playing a key role in preparing and executing Site Acceptance Testing (SAT). You also contribute to the continuous improvement of systems engineering practices, strengthening requirements traceability and promoting reuse of proven engineering approaches across projects.

What will you do?

  • Define, document, maintain, and track system and software requirements throughout the project life cycle (requirements engineering).
  • Translate high-level architectural designs into detailed system specifications and implementation-ready technical blueprints.
  • Build and maintain the system configuration baseline, ensuring requirements are correctly translated into functional configurations.
  • Validate system behavior against functional and operational requirements.
  • Own and coordinate system integration activities, including interoperability with customer systems and third-party solutions.
  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and execution of Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), including customer-witnessed validation.
  • Manage the full life cycle of findings from testing and validation, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers regarding functional system behavior and requirements traceability.
  • Identify opportunities to standardize configuration approaches and engineering processes.

What do you bring?

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with systems engineering and requirements management.
  • Experience in defining system requirements and architectures.
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles and tools (e.g. SysML, Enterprise Architect) is a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, Jama, or Polarion is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Willingness to spend approximately 10% of your time visiting customers, domestically and abroad.
  • Knowledge of the maritime domain is a plus.
  • Radar knowledge is a strong advantage.

What do we offer ?

  • You will work in an inspiring, enjoyable, and technically interesting environment.
  • The salary is attractive and aligned with your work experience and education.
  • Your individual choice budget (IKB) amounts to 13.15% of your salary and can be used for extra leave, additional pension savings, or paid out entirely.
  • You receive 20 statutory vacation days per year, with the option to purchase 20 additional days through your IKB.
  • The pension is premium-free, giving your net income a boost.
  • You also receive an annual vitality allowance of €272.50 net.
