Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is involved from the earliest conceptual phases through project execution. In this role you will make designs and support development, integration, verification, validation, and support. You will be the primary technical interface to the customer, and understand project requirements. The Systems Engineer develops and maintains system functional architectures and designs, performs requirements analysis, develops specifications, solves technical problems, performs system analysis, and works with interdisciplinary teams to perform these functions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Define stakeholder requirements
  Analyse system requirements
• Develop and maintain system functional architectures, designs, and specifications
• Solve technical problems
  Provide technical input for make/buy decisions
• Provide technical support and requirements input to software developments
• Initiate and follow up on work resulting from project acceptance testing
• Contribute to a broad spectrum of activities including supporting customer technical meetings, proposal development, contract execution, life-cycle support and ongoing product development
• In your role you will be travelling for up to 10% of your time
• Stand-by duties may be required

What you will bring with you:

• Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited technical institution
• Experience in systems engineering
• Knowledge of, or experience with, relevant technical subsystems
• Excellent communication skills
• Communicate fluently in Dutch and English (verbally and in writing)
• Basic knowledge of Linux, software engineering, and data networks
• Understanding of the shipping / port / vessel traffic management market is a plus
• Radar knowledge is a big plus
